Yogi Footwear x Albam Collaboration

Yogi Footwear has announced a collaboration with contemporary menswear brand Albam for SS19. Yogi Footwear x Albam features a three piece collection from the Classic range in exclusive colours inspired by Albam’s Spring/Summer season.

The collaboration will launch on 22nd March 2019 in Albam’s two London stores, and online at albamclothing.com and yogifootwear.com.

The Yogi Footwear x Albam collaboration features the Lawson Moccasin in White £150, the Caden Centre Seam in Soft Blue £150 and the Caden Moccasin Nude £150. Yogi Footwear’s Classic range of moccasin styles are hand crafted, featuring full leather, leather laces and natural crepe & vibram sole units. The Classic collection has an unlined moccasin construction which facilitates the reduction of glue in the manufacturing process.

Albam’s Ben Dutton said: “We wanted to showcase the Yogi Footwear brand with three distinct models. The Lawson for us is the iconic modern day Yogi silhouette, the Caden for us is a nod to Yogi’s 70s heritage. The Caden centre seam sits somewhere in-between, this for me is the most fun and interesting of the three. For colour we wanted each shoe to fit with everyman’s outfit. We wanted to use White on the Lawson would be unexpected yet it becomes an obvious choice when it is paired with a pair of Navy Chinos. The tan on the Caden is simply a classic, a go to for everyman. For the blue we took inspiration from our denim range. By flipping the leather the dye begins to look like it has been achieved with a traditional Indigo dye.”

Albam’s Ben Dutton said: “We’ve been working with Yogi Footwear for a couple of seasons and we’ve seen how much our customers shared our love of the product so we decided to collaborate on this project. Yogi feels likes like a likeminded brand with the same ethos when it comes to making great contemporary product. Albam creates products that everyman should have as a staple within his wardrobe, a suede shoe is big part of that. We’ve always been inspired by classic silhouettes, like American Moccasins or Northampton bench made shoes, Yogi sits perfectly within this for us.”

Albam’s Ben Dutton said: “SS19 was inspired by British new wave bands from the late 70’s to early 80’s. They had a certain view on the world, similar to punk, but less angry / more art school (for want of a better description). Anyway, we wanted a location that had that feeling of the period while being authentic, rather than forced, and a lot of the feeling of old English seaside towns has that feeling. Old mixed with new. A cheeky twinkle in their eye but also a bit run down on parts - and these charms felt the perfect counterpart to the season.”
