Yogi Footwear: Describe your personal style:
I used to have way too many clothes, but over the past few years I have tried to create more of a capsule wardrobe. I like clothing and shoes that are made well and from comfortable materials. I usually go for one neutral colour rather than patterns and try to choose outfits that you can dress up with heels or down with flats.
I can’t quite remember but I think it was a pair of white Levi Jeans that I wore everywhere!
Yogi Footwear: Any faux-pas you'd rather forget…?
Too many to choose from! One of my worst is probably a blue velour tracksuit that I wore in my early teens.
Yogi Footwear: Tell us about the oldest item in your wardrobe:
I have a beautiful black and white checkered Versace silk shirt that was my Dad’s from the 90s, I love it.
Yogi Footwear: What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought, clothing-wise?
Probably my Solace London dresses, one of which I wore on my wedding day.
I actually had two Weddings days. One big Swahili traditional wedding in London with my family and then one small civil ceremony in Charleston SC with my husband’s family. Both were very special in their own ways. The day in London had over 100 guests, it entailed lots of dancing and spicy foods and the Charleston wedding was a smaller celebration surrounded by beautiful scenery and gorgeous sunshine. We have great memories from both.
My husband has been a fan of Yogi for a long time so it was an obvious choice. We both wore neutral colours and the Willard shoe in Ivory went perfectly.
We went for quite a relaxed look for the ceremony in Charleston. My husband wore the Willard shoe in Ivory paired with T-shirt and trousers from Uniqlo and a Linen blazer.
In the 90s I was still living in East Africa. I would have been in primary school, I probably wore traditional Kanga and was listening to anything by the genius Remmy Ongala.
Long Cos dresses with flats, including my new Yogi Rufus Crepes in white!
Yogi Footwear: Who are your style heroes? (past and present)
Yogi Footwear: What does #GoFeetFirst mean to you?
#GoFeetFirst to me means - Get up! Make a change! Seize the day!
Yogi Footwear: How do you #GoFeetFirst day-to-day?
I try to #GoFeetFirst in my day to day by doing something different and new.
