In our series of Yogi Footwear Interviews, we've been meeting our stockists around the globe to find out more about their stores, their unique history and how they wear their Yogis.

In the hot seat this month, meet Christopher Åkesson, owner of Meadow and Meadowweb.com which was founded in the spring of 2008 with the opening of their Malmö store offering a modern and contemporary experience with denim as the absolute corner stone.

Yogi Footwear: Describe your personal style:

Christopher Åkesson: Scandinavian but with heavy influences of New York, Los Angeles, Japan and South Korea.

Yogi Footwear: What was the first item of clothing you ever bought for yourself?

Christopher Åkesson: Probably a way to big yellow Ralph Lauren polo when I was 12 in my hometown (Hässleholm) during a Christmas sale.

Yogi Footwear: Any faux-pas you'd rather forget…?

Christopher Åkesson: I’m blessed with forgetting these things.

Yogi Footwear: Tell us about the oldest item in your wardrobe:

Christopher Åkesson: After a 3-4 years I give away whatever is in my wardrobe, or sell really cheap. But maybe a LVC Type 1 that I don’t like.

Yogi Footwear: What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought, clothing-wise?

Christopher Åkesson: I have a few pairs of Viberg boots and a Schott NYC Cafe racer leather jacket made in the US. I’d say that those things are the most expensive.

Yogi Footwear: How do you style your Yogi shoes?

Christopher Åkesson: With either my Pallet Life Story jeans or my orSlow 105. 99/100 that’s what I use.

Yogi Footwear: What do your Yogi shoes say about you?

Christopher Åkesson: I don’t know, but probably that I like nice shoes. :)

Yogi Footwear: Yogi was born in the 90s, what were you doing, what were you wearing and what were you listening to back in the day?

Christopher Åkesson: Early 90’s I wore what was put on my body by my parents and I was probably listening to Michael Jackson and Europe. I did kids stuff back then probably (born in 1984). Mid 90’s I was wearing sweat pants and sweaters, listening to Michael Jackson, and played drums, football and SEGA. Late 90’s I was wearing all Levi’s. Exclusively Levi’s. I was listening to Michael Jackson, Metallica, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin.

Yogi Footwear: This season you'll be wearing…

Christopher Åkesson: My Eastlogue jacket, some House of St. Clair things, some Pallet Life Story stuff and orSlow.

Yogi Footwear: Who are your style heroes? (past and present)

Christopher Åkesson: Michael Jackson when I was young, Slash (GNR) in my late teens. Today I’d say it’s Ichiro Nakatsu of orSlow.

Yogi Footwear: What fragrance do you wear?

Christopher Åkesson: None since I was 17. I really don’t like fragrances at all :)

Yogi Footwear: Which is the best dressed nation?

Christopher Åkesson: South Korea and Japan.

Yogi Footwear: What can we expect to see for Autumn/Winter?

Christopher Åkesson: Depends on where you're looking :)

Yogi Footwear: Which Yogi shoes will you be adding to your Autumn Winter wardrobe?

Christopher Åkesson:  The negative heel, it’s super comfy and looks really good.

Yogi Footwear: Tell us about your store? What can we expect to find there?

Christopher Åkesson: In our store you’ll find a mix of retro styles and modern takes of these. Our first priority is that we deliver well crafted materials and styles that are anything between timeless and somewhat timeless. We used to be known for our quality denim, but nowadays it’s anything from bags, shoes, shirts, jackets, eyewear and so on.
